Yes, we've heard it. No, we're not changing the name.

Wait — is this a real business or is it just a joke?

Both. That's the whole point. LoudLicker is a real hat brand run by real adults with a real payroll and real 501(c)(3) partnerships. The name, the copy, the tongue-forward logo? Those are the joke. The shelter grants, the peanut butter, and the pets going home? Those are extremely real. If it takes a filthy name to fund $147k of shelter grants in a year, we'll take the notes.

So are you a hat brand or an adoption charity?

A hat brand. Full stop. LoudLicker is a for-profit apparel company that donates 50% of every drop's revenue to partner shelters. We're not running adoptions ourselves — the shelters do that. We fund them, feature their pets, and drive attention to the ones who need it most.

How do I actually adopt one of these pets?

Click any featured licker to see the shelter they're at — that shelter runs the adoption. We'll link you straight to their application. Every partner shelter has its own process, but we've vetted them all to keep it under 48 hours from first email to meet-and-greet.

50% of revenue? What about profit vs. gross?

Gross revenue, not profit — that's the honest number. Before our costs. It means when you buy a $34 tee, $17 leaves the building for a shelter grant. Our costs come out of the other $17, and we publish the quarterly ledger so you can check the math.

Why "LoudLicker"? Isn't that a bit much?

That's the point. "Adopt a Pet" has been the slogan since 1954 and shelter intake is still 6.3 million a year. Loud, memorable brands cut through. A hat you have to explain is a hat that starts adoption conversations. If it also mildly annoys your parents, gets you a look at the school pickup, and makes your Instagram algorithm hate you — those are all features. The dogs don't care what the brand is called. They care that they get out.

Can my shelter get featured / funded?

Yes. Registered 501(c)(3) shelters and municipal humane societies can apply to partner with us. We rotate featured shelters monthly and try to spread grants geographically. See the section below to reach out.

Where are the hats made?

Blanks are ethically-sourced (WRAP-certified factories in North America and Portugal). Embroidery and screenprinting happen at a small shop in Hamilton, Ontario. All decoration is domestic — nothing gets flown across an ocean twice.

Wait — free peanut butter with every order?

Yes, seriously. Every LoudLicker order ships with a complimentary 340g jar of small-batch peanut butter. Because everybody needs a loud licker, and a loud licker with peanut butter is louder. Prefer almond butter? Swap it at checkout for $4 extra — same size jar, same small batch, slightly fancier bark. Contains only peanuts (or almonds) and salt. No xylitol. Vet-safe. Dog-endorsed.
